Mitain is currently working as a senior IP Counsel for EMEA at Canon, one of the world’s leading imaging companies and best-known brands. He has over five years of in-house experience in technology, media and energy sectors, following eight years in private practice. He is a qualified solicitor with an LLM in Intellectual Property Management and an MSci in Chemistry. He is responsible for a wide range of IP-related activities throughout the EMEA region, including the management of trademark portfolios and managing IP disputes (just not patents!) to supporting everything from high-impact marketing campaigns and sponsorships, sales of high-value semiconductor manufacturing equipment, to the governance of use of artificial intelligence.
