Helen Stanwell-Smith has been head of brand protection for the ITV Group for the last six years. She is responsible for the creation and implementation of the ITV Group's global brand protection and enforcement strategy and manages the ITV Group's trademark and domain portfolios. Key brands for the ITV Group include the ITV brand itself and television programme brands such as The Voice, Love Island, I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here and Hell's Kitchen as well as the much-loved soaps, Coronation Street and Emmerdale. Prior to joining ITV, Helen was head of intellectual property at the Thomas Cook Group for two years. She also spent 12 years in the intellectual property team at Orange telecoms Group, including 7 years as head of the global IP portfolio and brand enforcement team. She started her in house career in the litigation team of the BBC following seven years in private practice as a media and intellectual property litigator.
