Clare Cornell is a partner in Finnegan’s London office. She leads Finnegan’s London trademark group and has 25 years’ experience in the IP industry. Clare’s practice focuses on all aspects of trademark portfolio management. In addition to her core practice, Clare advises clients on the implications of emerging technologies—including artificial intelligence (AI) on brand protection, trademark strategy, and the evolving IP landscape. At Finnegan, she has served as an AI ambassador and provides strategic input and evaluation related to AI tools aimed to optimize efficiency and performance whilst retaining legal strategy, quality, and data privacy. Clare also specialises in trademark enforcement and seeking settlement of complex IP disputes. She is both a Chartered and European trademark and patent attorney having qualified to practice in the UK and in Europe in both disciplines. Skilled in coordinating national and international trademark filing strategies, Clare serves an international client base, including through the UK Intellectual Property Office and the World Intellectual Property Organization’s (WIPO) Madrid International trademark registration system.
